Joe's just a great guy. His farm, Dirty Girl, was started by Jane Friedman and Ali Edwards. It's a remarkable property, on an overlooked street near downtown Santa Cruz. Joe's beans and greens and everything else are prized by Chef David Kinch of Manresa, and he's also a favorite of Alice Waters.
When he's not working his butt off, he surfs. Yep, another famous surfing celebrity farmer from Santa Cruz!
